Traffio 2026 developer internship: Manishaben's experience at Traffio

Whether you're a seasoned developer or just finding your feet, stepping into a new workplace for the first time can feel equal parts exciting and nerve wracking. For Manishaben, a postgraduate student currently completing her studies at CQ University, her ten-week developer internship at Traffio turned out to be far more than she bargained for in the best way possible!

Each morning, Manishaben arrived to find tasks already waiting for her in the development project management tool Jira. Rather than being left to figure things out alone, the team made a point of checking in on her progress and offering constructive feedback along the way. "Everyone was very helpful," she reflected. For someone coming into a professional software environment for the first time, that kind of support made all the difference.

The work itself was also incredibly stimulating! Manishaben's project supervisor set her on a task related to Traffio's mobile app, an engaging and practical project that was a welcomed change from the theoretical classroom tasks. At the start of her internship, Manishaben was asked which skills she primarily wanted to develop. Having been previously focused on front-end development, she was eager to become a full-stack developer. Through various back-end tasks, including integrating the website with databases, she was able to “level up” in her abilities as a developer.

Manishaben was struck by the team culture. "You couldn't differentiate between a senior and a junior developer," she said, describing an environment built on transparency, openness, and genuine collaboration. No one hesitated to ask a question, and no question felt too small to answer. For Manishaben, that psychological safety made it easier to push herself further than she might have otherwise.

Coming from a university environment, she noticed a real shift in how learning works in practice. "Uni had more spoon feeding," she said, "but here, in reality, the tasks are more unpredictable". It's a gap that a lot of graduates discover only once they're already on the job, but Manishaben got to experience it in an environment where she had ample support, which is precisely what our internship sets out to do.

By the end of her internship, any uncertainty about her career direction had dissolved. The experience strengthened her conviction that software development is where she's headed, and she's already applying that momentum to her job search.

Her advice to anyone considering taking on an internship? "Make your resume properly structured. Show your enthusiasm. Apply. Be open-minded and inquisitive." A simple, but tried and true formula.

Traffio looks forward to welcoming more interns like Manishaben, people who come in ready to learn and leave ready to build.
